Joining the Dojo
Zentokan Dojo is a membership based organization built on community and a personal connection between teacher and student. There are no contracts, and all students are encouraged to attend class as often as possible.

2
Before you can join the dojo, you must visit us to observe or try a class. Nearly every class on our schedule is open to visitors, and there's no cost. If you'd like to jump in, please bring loose-fitting clothing and arrive 15 minutes early. All other materials will be provided.
Complete your beginners course.
3
The Beginners Course is a series of four classes that must be completed before you are eligible to join the dojo as a full member. During these classes you will receive personal attention from an instructor who will introduce the movement and breathing practices required for Battodo. You will also learn basic stances, cuts, and thrusts.
We strongly encourage you to complete the course over four consecutive weeks if possible. The non-refundable fee for the course is $50.
Join the dojo as a full member.
4
After you complete the course, and if everyone (including you) agrees that Zentokan is a good fit for you and your goals, you’ll be invited to join the dojo as a full member.
Membership at Zentokan Dojo costs $150 per month. As a non-profit, we believe financial hardship should not prevent a dedicated student from training. If you are interested in joining the dojo but need financial assistance, please ask us about our scholarship program.
